Our Community is Getting Bigger!
Asian Americans are the most rapidly expanding racial or ethnic group within the U.S. electorate. Between 2000 and 2020, the number of eligible Asian American voters more than doubled, increasing by 139%. The Hispanic electorate saw a comparable rise at 121%, while the black and white electorates grew at much slower rates, 33% and 7%, respectively.

Our presence in key states and major population centers positions us to make a significant impact.
Asian American eligible voters are dispersed throughout the country, but more than half live in only three states. California alone holds 35% of the U.S. Asian electorate (3.6 million). The state with the second-most Asian American eligible voters is New York (920,000), followed by Texas (698,000).

The Filipino-American population is expanding
As of 2022, approximately 4.1 million Filipino Americans resided in the United States, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. Filipinos make up 17% of the total Asian American population in the country.

Three-quarters (75%) of Filipino immigrants are naturalized U.S. citizens, a higher proportion compared to other major Asian origin groups.
Most Filipino American registered voters align with or lean toward the Democratic Party. About 68% are Democrats or lean Democratic, while 31% are Republicans or lean Republican. In comparison, 62% of all Asian American registered voters identify with or lean Democratic, and 34% lean Republican. As of 2022, two-thirds of the Filipino American population—approximately 2.7 million people—were eligible to vote in the U.S., either by birth or naturalization, according to Census Bureau data.
